www.pixiemama.com.au I’m Jane and mum to two young children Victoria 3 years and Oscar who has just turned one year old, I live in the Central Wheat belt of Western Australia on a broad acre farm that produces wheat and sheep. I was introduced to baby wearing by my good friends at the Australian Breastfeeding Association after the birth of my second child, I was overwhelmed having two kids and had no idea how I was going to juggle an active two year old and a newborn.
My first carrier was a full buckle and I was amazed at how settled my baby was when I held him close to my body; he napped in the carrier and breastfed on demand. I was able to carry on everyday life while wearing my newborn. I soon entered the wonderful world of woven wraps due to the versatility and beauty, I mean who needs just one carrier right ;) I still wear my son now in a variety of carriers and love the fact that he will fall asleep on my back when I’m out and about for the day, With the right carrier his 13kg is very manageable for me even though I’m a petite 58kg woman
I have since become actively involved in the local baby wearing community, organising meets in Merredin once a month and also running and participating in the online community. I hope your baby wearing journey will be a positive and rewarding for you as it has been for me
